Since it was born in late 2009, Heartstory has grown to be one of Australia’s leading portrait studios, with two of Australia’s most awarded and best known family portrait photographers at the helm; Jeremy Byrnes and Katie Kolenberg.

Jeremy joined Heartstory in 2014 after 12 years of running a photography business in Sydney. He is the current ACT Professional Photographer of the Year.

Jeremy is a major kid magnet and most littlies who meet him consider him their best friend by the end of the shoot.

Be sure to order a coffee when you’re at the studio because Jeremy’s barista skills are nearly as good as his photography. He’s one of the smiliest people you’ll ever meet, loves 80s music, and rocks double denim.

Katie Kolenberg // Photographer // Business Owner // Presenter // wife to Jeremy and mama to August and Toby

Katie founded Heartstory as a solo operator back in 2009, and is a two time winner of the prestigious Australian Family Photographer of the Year.

Katie is gun at multi-tasking and lists, and is back behind the camera in February 2019 after a year working behind the scenes while taking care of August.

Katie is a big softie, who cries and laughs more than the average human. She watches way too many YouTube videos of cats and babies.

Jodi Bingley // Newborn Photographer // mum of 5 girls

Jodi joined Heartstory in 2018 as the newborn specialist. She is a baby whisperer and has a Masters in Patience.

Jodi has won silver awards at state and national level in the Australian Professional Photography Awards, and she has come to us after running her own photography business for the last 8 years.

She is an animal lover, owns a Saint Bernard and spends too much time on the hockey field.

 

 

 

 

 

Mel // Studio Assistant Extraordinaire // mum of 2

Mel joined Heartstory in 2017 and quickly made herself indispensable. She is our receptionist slash admin assistant slash personal assistant slash all round awesome human.

Mel has a background in graphic design and hospitality and she makes everyone at Heartstory hungry with her delicious curries at lunchtime.
